Fun and Refreshing module!
I have learned a lot especially the structure of crafting and delivering my own speech. I learned the importance of tonality and not just the message.
The program design is engaging and informative. Ms. Sheila  Viesca welcomes ideas and can laugh at herself, which makes her so relatable and endearing.  I’ve learned my strengths and weaknesses and the importance of evolving all throughout this TalkShop workshop and long after.

Sherrle Torres, Team Lead, Financial Times Publishing,  Management Development Program (MDP)
I have learned that by knowing your strengths and weakness you will be guided in your daily routine, be it a simple interaction or situation that requires solid decision-making.
The program design is somehow taking us to a whole new approach to understanding the personality types we have.
Ms. Sheila Viesca is very accommodating and welcomes our questions. She definitely displays expertise in her subject matter.  With the help of TalkShop, I deepened my self- awareness and commitment to continuous improvement towards good leadership.

Rachelle Alba, Team Lead, Financial Times Publishing,  Management Development Program (MDP)
The TalkShop program design on personality profiling teaches us to relate our personality types to usual themes we speak about.  I like the frame work of speeches which will help a lot when I speak in meetings.
Ms. Sheila Viesca is fun and at the same time is able to make us focus on whatever she is teaching and sharing.

Elsie Brillante,Team Lead, Financial Times Publishing,  Management Development Program (MDP)
I learned my different archetypes and  deepened my understanding of my personality.  TalkShop gave us an eye opener.
It is always refreshing to have Ms. Sheila Viesca as the Consultant. In her class, we experience many transformative moments. One of them is a  better understanding of  one’s personality.

Thea Marie  Moreno,Team Lead, Financial Times Publishing,  Management Development Program (MDP)
I’ve learned more about my personality and what type of person I am attracted to.
TalkShop’s training is unique and everything is relevant. I also like the grammar exercises, the sharing part, and analyzing one’s self as well.
Thank you, Ms. Sheila Viesca, for the techniques that we can use in our daily lives. I want to be able to apply and share my learning to serve as an inspiration and become a great leader in the future.

John Mark Poralis, Researcher, Financial Times Publishing,  Management Development Program (MDP)
The archetype topic gave me new insights, especially in self- mastery. I learned about my inherent personality that prods me to react in a certain way to different situations.
Talkshop as always has created a wonderful and well- crafted module suitable to all needs. I like the fact that Ms. SheilaViesca is a good mentor who allows open discussions, which elicit response from us and made the topics livelier. Ms. Sheila Viesca is perfect as usual.

Grace Ramos, Prod. Editor,  Financial Times Publishing,  Management Development Program (MDP)
Ms. Sheila is very accommodating and kept the session light. The TalkShop workshop has taught me more about myself.  Personality, leadership, and communication skills are all vital parts of the relevant training design which TalkShop has given Financial Times.

Get off Your Chair!

Today’s work style keeps everyone seated, and for extended periods. We order food delivery, send emails to our associates down the hall, and just swivel and scoot in our seats to reach for our stuff.

Sheila Viesca, TalkShop CEO advises, “Excessive sitting has become a health issue. This keeps one immobile. The body was designed for movement which it is not anymore getting for days, weeks, and months on end. This slows down the metabolism that promotes obesity and a host of illnesses, including heart disease and cancer.Life expectancy, one’s well-being and mental health are also affected adversely. The hard part is that inactivity cannot be offset by exercising in the mornings or on weekends, the same way eating the right foods cannot compensate for lack of sleep.”

How does one address this concern, while still delivering quality work? Viesca shares these tips:

1. Get up every one hour. Walk as you take calls. See your colleague instead of sending an email. Take your food to the pantry, and stand as you eat.

2. Stretch every hour, even in place. Move your head sideways, your arms and legs as well.

3. Don’t sit after a meal.

4. Have walking meetings to discuss issues or generate ideas.

The trick is to have intermittent movement every hour as the key to staying healthy and productive. Simply, get off your chair!

“Sedentary people have shriveled hearts and most of us who do not exercise have an atrophied body.”- Dr. Bruce B. Dan
